A total of 16 participants completed the six-month training.

17 Jan, 2026, Pokhara, Magh 3 — Heart-Mind Consultancy, Pokhara, has successfully completed a six-month psychosocial counseling training program, with 16 participants graduating from the second and third batches. The second batch ran from 25 February 2025 to 15 September 2025, while the third batch was conducted from 15 June 2025 to 14 January 2026.

The training spanned six months (a total of 780 hours). Upon completion, the organization organized a certificate distribution and experience-sharing ceremony on Saturday, formally bidding farewell to the trainees.

Participants came to Pokhara from Dang, Chitwan, Pokhara, Syangja, and other districts. According to Director Sudip Ghimire, most of the trainees were government school teachers, nurses, and professionals working with non-governmental organizations.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Binod Bindu Sharma, Executive Director of the Gandaki Province Health Training Center, urged participants to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their professional practice and community work. He also noted that the Provincial Training Center itself has been providing counseling training and emphasized that the training conducted by Heart-Mind Consultancy is highly practical and useful.

Similarly, Lal Prasad Sharma, Public Health Officer at the Gandaki Provincial Training Center, highlighted that psychosocial counseling training is essential across all sectors of society.

Director Ghimire stated that this was the first time in Gandaki Province that a psychosocial counseling training program affiliated with CTEVT had been conducted. He shared that the initial phase was quite challenging, but expressed confidence in moving forward through collaboration with local and provincial governments. He also briefed attendees on the organization’s future plans.

On behalf of the participants, Saraswati Bhandari and Muna BK shared that the training has enabled them to work professionally in the field of psychosocial and mental health, and they reflected on their six-month learning experiences.

The program was attended by Rabindra Lamichhane, Information Technology Assistant at the Provincial Health Training Center, Sabin Regmi, journalist from Radio Annapurna, and other distinguished guests.
