Hi Youth,
Warm greetings.
I hope you are doing well and wishing you peace in heart-mind and good physical health. In the recent year, I have observed that many young seem increasingly restless, anxious, irritation, insomnia, hopelessness and easily overwhelmed conditions. Some haven’t even completed Grade 12, yet feel pressured to go abroad and earn money. There’s a growing belief that there is no future in Nepal, which I’ve observed in many youth. Hence, peace of mind is missing. Hours are spent idly on mobile phones and laptops without any meaningful purpose.
If you are constantly stressing your present mind with dreams of going abroad, your body becomes passive. It loses its energy and enthusiasm. There’s a lack of liveliness. You may find yourself getting irritated easily, feeling hopeless quickly, struggling to maintain long-term relationships with friends, or having trouble falling asleep at night. These problems seem to be growing day by day. Even in well-off families, peace of mind is missing due to overwhelming negative thoughts. Financial struggles, social and family breakdowns, separation from spouses, unexpected life events, or unemployment have created a deep sense of unrest within.
In such situations, to keep the mind calm and refreshed, and to manage the symptoms you are experiencing, it can be helpful to share your feelings with someone you trust. Try to focus on activities that bring you peace and calmness. It’s also important to not only think about your problems, but to reflect on your strengths, the supportive people in your life, and the achievements you’ve had so far. Setting meaningful goals can make life feel more manageable and purposeful.
Who doesn’t experience stress? The mater of the fact is how we respond to it. Facing stress in a positive and constructive way is what truly helps maintain good mental health. If you are still struggling with anxiety, sleeplessness, hopelessness, fear, or overwhelming thoughts—even when you have support from friends and family—then professional help may be needed. How long will you keep holding on to your problems in silence? Rather than worrying about what others might say, it is far more important to take care of your own mind. When your mind is at peace, everything around you starts to feel more positive. But when your mind is not okay, it begins to affect every part of your life in a negative way.
At Heart-Mind Consultancy, Pokhara, we are here to listen and support you. You don’t have to carry your burden alone. You are not alone. Let us help you manage your mental health and emotional wellbeing.
